How to Cook the Irish Pub Burger Ground Beef Sandwich

    Prep the patties

    • Grab your ground beef and form it into 4 even patties. Make sure they’re a little bigger than your buns since they’ll shrink when cooking. Season each side generously with salt and pepper. (No one likes a bland burger!)

    Cook the bacon

    • Heat a pan over medium heat and throw in the bacon slices. Cook them until crispy (about 4-5 minutes per side). Once done, set them aside on a paper towel to drain the excess grease. Don’t skip this step—crispy bacon = burger heaven.

    Toast the buns

    • In the same pan (yep, keep that bacon flavor going!), add a little butter and toast your buns until golden brown. You’ll want that crispy, buttery goodness for the perfect base. Set them aside.

    Cook the patties

    • Now, heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once it’s hot, toss those beef patties in. Cook them for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If you like your burgers more well-done, give them a couple more minutes. Don’t press them down with your spatula—let them cook naturally, or you’ll lose all those tasty juices!

    Cheese time

    • Just before the patties are done, throw a slice of cheese on each one. Cover with a lid for about a minute, so it melts perfectly. Cheese pull, here we come!

    Assemble the burger

    • Now comes the fun part! Spread some Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and a touch of ketchup on the bottom of your toasted buns. Stack your juicy patty with melted cheese on top, followed by crispy bacon and fresh onion slices.

    Serve & devour

    • Place the top bun on and give it a little press—just to make sure everything stays together. Serve it up with your favorite side (fries, anyone?) and enjoy the burger magic you just created!
    • Note: Feel free to throw in any extra toppings you love—lettuce, tomato, pickles, or even a fried egg for extra richness! You’ve got this.

    Notes

    • If you're looking for a lighter option, you can swap the beef for turkey or chicken.
    • Don't skip toasting the buns for that extra crunch!
    • Want a spicy twist? Add jalapeños or hot sauce to the patty or on top.
    • Make sure to let the burger rest for a couple of minutes after cooking for juicier results.
